Bruce Montgomery

Great experience over a period of 5 months and as many visits. Dr. VanYperen, Jill, and the rest of the team provided excellent care throughout the process of implanting dentures. I especially appreciated their awareness of my discomfort and pain during the early visits. Without me having to say anything Dr. VanYperen would slow down or administer additional pain relief if he noticed I was in pain. I highly recommend NKC Dental especially Dr.VanYperen and his team.

Yasmeen Jasim

Very nice, and helpful. I called them 2 times for emergency pain and they did a same day appointment for me. Dr. VanYperen is a great dentist to work with.

Cynthia Erin Benson

I recieved exceptional service from the time I made the call to the end of my appointment and beyond from receptionist, assistant and doctor. Thank you for an amazing experience.

A Variety of Emergency Dental Services Available

Dental emergencies come in a wide range of types, severities, and causes. The one thing they all have in common is that they are often quite painful, and if not dealt with early, they can become even worse. Our best recommendation is that you shouldn't try to mask the issue with painkillers because it could bring further complications. Get in contact with us as soon as you're able to. Emergency dental professionals can help you in a timely manner and fix any dental emergency you may have, even if it seems small at first.

These emergencies can include:

  • Toothaches: While common and relatively minor, toothaches can escalate quickly. They're painful and distracting and can make it hard to eat or drink, especially when ingesting foods or liquids of varying temperatures. They can also be a sign of deeper internal decay or damage that won't improve without professional intervention. You can trust Dr. William Busch to diagnose the culprit of your toothache and solve the problem.
  • Tooth damage: Teeth can be damaged in a number of ways, such as through a physical injury. When this happens, even if the damage is minor, it can result in pain and difficulty in your dental hygiene routine. You may also experience a drastic change in your bite or feel self-conscious about smiling. In more severe cases, the tooth may be cracked, which can lead to greater damage later or even to the loss of the tooth itself. No matter how minor the issue may seem at first, visiting a dentist can help you get the tooth repaired or replaced if necessary.
  • Crown and/or filling loss: Crowns and fillings alike serve an important role in protecting your teeth. If decay has begun, they cover the cavity to prevent the decay from spreading. They also allow you to bite and brush properly. Losing them, either through injury, continuing decay, or the deterioration of the metal itself can be both painful and dangerous as the cavity is re-opened and more bacteria can get in. Our team will clean out the damaged area and replace your crowns and fillings before complications begin to take place.
  • Gum pain: Discomfort in your gums is generally caused by infection, and these infections can spread throughout the mouth. This means that not only will the pain stick around, but that related complications can happen as well. Dr. William Busch will clean out the infected tissue before the issue grows, protecting your mouth from further damage.
  • Swelling jaw: Much like gum pain, a swollen jaw usually comes from infection. This scenario tends to be more severe, however, as your jaw is meant to protect and support your entire dental structure. If the infection isn't stopped in time, it can spread to the nearby tissue and gums, which can have major consequences. If you notice your jaw is starting to swell, our team at NKC Dental can address the main cause and stabilize your oral health.
  • Root canal: Root canals have a bad reputation. Because the process is done in stages and requires a more invasive technique, patients tend to feel stronger about it. If your dentist recommends a root canal to avoid the loss of your tooth, Dr. William Busch and the team will work to make the process painless and as relaxing as possible for you.
  • Loss of a tooth: Your dentist may choose to extract a tooth and replace it if the damage is too great to attempt to salvage it. In a more dramatic scenario, your teeth could be knocked out due to a bad injury or ongoing decay. In these situations, the tooth is lost outside of the dentist's chair. These events can be painful, stressful, and dangerous, as the open socket can collect bacteria and be even more vulnerable to damage. Our team will clean out the damaged area and provide a replacement tooth to preserve your smile.

Avoiding a Dental Emergency

You can keep your teeth healthy and minimize the risk of a dental urgency happening when you least expect it. By keeping up with good dental hygiene, watching the foods you eat, and talking to your regular dentist about any concerns you may have, you can remain at ease about potential visits to an emergency dentist.
