Doctor Bio

My name is Dr. Michael Thomas and I am originally from southeastern Michigan and received my undergraduate and dental degree from the University of Michigan (Go Blue!). I completed an intensive two-year hospital dentistry residency in Fresno, California at the Community Medical Centers and Veterans Affairs Medical Center-Fresno. While in residency, I comprehensively treated medically compromised patients in a hospital setting and gained additional training in complex dental procedures. Giving back to others is a big virtue of mine and I have been grateful of the incredible opportunities to do volunteer dentistry in dental school and residency.

Dental emergencies, such as toothaches, tooth decay, tooth loss, or even a knockout tooth, all need to be handled quickly so that the problem doesn’t grow out of control. Emergency Dental Services

Dental emergencies can come in various scenarios, but all of them are similar in that they’re painful, distracting, and often dangerous. If left unchecked, then the problems will simply stick around, often spreading to other parts of the mouth or getting more painful. Luckily, there’s no need to live with the problem or let it get worse. How To Avoid a Dental Emergency

While it’s good to have a place to go in case of a sudden dental emergency, it’s always preferable not to need that help in the first place. Caring properly for your teeth can minimize your risk. Practice proper dental hygiene by brushing and flossing regularly, avoiding foods that are too sugary or too crunchy, and calling your regular dentist if you have any concerns. It’s not possible to always avoid problems, and some things are outside of your control, but being proactive can help you avoid issues like bacterial infections or spreading decay.
